I just finished ‘Van Gogh’s Ear, The True Story’ by Bernadette Murphy and it has furthered my love for Vincent Van Gogh.

I have a great compassion for Van Gogh and his mental suffering. I consider him a hero for his fight with his mind in a time that was not kind to those with mental illness. Although he lost his battle, he has to be applauded for the fight he put up. He was able to produce a great amount of paintings despite his suffering.

Not only this, I admire his grit with painting. Despite only selling one painting in his lifetime, he kept on painting. He rebelled against his father in order to do what he wanted with his life.
